Did you know that a photographer named H. H. Bennett (in a small town in Wisconsin) invented the stop-action shutter which made it possible to take clear pictures of moving objects? This famous 1886 photo of the leap at Stand Rock (picture #2) was proof that his invention worked. He also captured breathtaking pictures of these glacially formed rock formations along the banks of the Wisconsin river. We only stopped at Wisconsin Dells briefly and didn’t get to see them up close, which means that I’ll definitely have to come back someday. #wisconsin #wisconsindells #photography #invention #history #travel #roadtrip #midwest #dells #rockformation
